How the calculation works

Total cost = acquisition + grading + shipping + other costs
Net sale = sale estimate − percentage fee − fixed selling costs
Difference = net sale − total cost

The break-even sale is the smallest rounded-up cent amount that covers total cost and your selling charges.

Costs and uncertainty

Grading isn’t a guaranteed result. A card’s condition, the grader’s assessment, buyer demand and changing fees can all affect the outcome.

This calculation assumes one card per scenario. It doesn’t include additional charges you haven’t entered, your time, or tax on a future sale. Collecting value can also be personal, beyond a resale figure.
